A short film explaining the concepts of marine ecosystem services and marine ecosystem services assessment made by the VALMER project in collaboration with BTTP films had its world premiere earlier in the summer at the 2nd International Marine and Coastal Policy Forum in Plymouth http://www.marcopolforum.org/
The film formed part of the opening keynote presentation made by Maya Plass (of BBC’s Springwatch and Coast fame) and was made to a full house in the university’s impressive Sherwell Centre.
The film, which also featured Maya as well as sea bass angler Nigel Horsman and VALMER’s own Eric Thiebaut (Station Biologique de Roscoff) and Nicky Beaumont (PML), was well received and commended for its ambition to communicate in non-technical, everyday terms the concept of marine ecosystem services and the idea of ecosystem services assessment and valuation.
Since its premiere back in June a French version of the film has also been produced. Both these films are now available to view on the VALMER homepages or on YouTube at:
