1. Change text and background Colours
It may be that you find the text and background colour combinations difficult to read or you may prefer to have a specific colour, such as white text on a background.

These settings can be changed in your browser:

Firefox
1. Click tools in the menu bar and options from the drop-down menu
2. Select Content in the tool panel and then click on the colours button
3. In this screen you can choose to use your windows colour scheme in Firefox by selecting ‘Use system colours’
4. Alternatively you can choose your colours just for firefox. to do this you will need to make sure ‘Use system colours’ is deselected. You will then be able select your text colour from the pop up colour palette

Internet explorer
1. Click on ‘Tools’ in the menu bar and then ‘Internet Options’ from the drop-down menu, this will display internet options
2. Select general tab if this is not already selected and click on accessibility
3. You can maintain your Windows colour scheme by selecting ‘Ignore colours specified on webpages’
4. Alternatively, you can select your colours just for Internet Explorer by clicking on the ‘colors’ button
5. Make sure ‘Use Windows colors’ is deselected. To change the text colour, click the colour boxes next to text or background.

2. Change your fonts
Some people find particular font types difficult to read on their computer and while using the web.

Internet explorer
1. Click on ‘Tools’ in the menu bar and then ‘Internet Options’ from the drop-down menu, this will display internet options
2. Select general tab if this is not already selected and click on accessibility
3. Select ‘Ignore font styles on webpages’ and press ok.
4. Click on Fonts, where you will be able to select a font of your choice.
